040403 - The Box
Man there's something about symmetrical numbers and/or number patterns that looks good. Boxes have all fucking SORTS of great number patterns, for those whose minds work in that way, that space.
This is the start of the explanation of the Box and the way it works, as I see it - more directly, at any rate - I think everything I have done here in the last year is about the Box, I just haven't actually identified it as such (no I haven't been fucking with you or keeping secrets - that's the game of those I fight - I write to learn, and what I learn goes here - it's like teaching, if you can't explain something simply and clearly, you don't understand it - a lot of what I do is done to see how much of that I can do...). If you don't yet know what I'm talking about, get a coffee or a beer or a scotch or a tea (if you're into blackish carbonated beverages you probably don't belong here - leave now - although I've known one or two "rye-and-coke"ers who might fit) or a joint or your girlfriend or whatever does it for you - you're gonna need it. Sort of like Red Pill - Blue Pill time - if you ain't ready for the truth (or an inquiry thereinto - there may be some wrong starts or turns along the way) - go somewhere else. If you're comfortable with Santa Claus and Barbie and Ken and tv and god and shit like that, and don't wanna get upset about your world and life - click Google and look for something different. If you're gonna stick around - DON'T send the kids to bed - a few fucks never hurt anyone, and this is a LOT better for them than Santa Claus, in the longer sort of run. But if you're sticking around - you probably know that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
Actually that's as good a jump off point as any - why is it, do you suppose, that we live in a society where words about sex - fuck, cocksucker, cunt - are "dirty!!!!!" words - MUSTN'T SAY THOSE WORDS CHILDREN!!!! - ???? man, I could never figure that out - of course, you're never supposed to TRY to figure it out, that's one of the first rules of the Box - don't ask questions about things they tell you not to ask questions about! - but words like kill, murder, violence, maim, torture, bomb, banks, investors, capitalists, profit, slave, debt, etc and etc - are just fine things for everyday conversation, even though ALL of those words involve various kinds of unpleasant or worse things, while the sex words involve pleasant things (no don't start that - rape is not sex, it's violence...) - I imagine half of the conversations around the "free" HAHAHAHAHAAA world tonight used all of those words - how many people did our bombs kill today etc - and I imagine something less than one percent of those conversations talked about fucking, a MUCH more pleasurable, peaceful act in every way (and for that matter probably a lot more people were actually THINKING about fucking, even if they couldn't TALK about it HAHAHAHAHAAA - think about it!!!) - so why is it verboten to talk about that, but fine to talk about killing???? Something REALLY fucked up with the "sense of values" there, it seems to me. I don't have any great explanations for this, still working my way through my own instilled fuckups - I just know it's part of the puzzle - but think about it - we don't need great hierarchies of command structures for fucking, we can kind of muddle along on our own with that stuff, at least as soon as we get to some private place HAHAHAHAAA, and it's kind of a private activity for most of us anyway - but for organised killing, now, and bigtime, significant violence - that's where DO AS YOU ARE FUCKING TOLD!!!! - comes into it - and here I AIN'T talking about fucking!!! if you see what I mean - but something sort of truly obscene.
The Box. Fantasyland. The real matrix. Believing in Santa Claus.
That's something else that's not an accidental thing, that Santa stuff, I think, or "coincidental" (you may have noticed - things people call "coincidences" in the Box get my hackles up the way "conspiracy theories" get the rightwingers frothing at the mouth - desperately trying to prevent their conspiracies from being exposed HAHAHAHAAA - actually, many of them are just as much victims of the Box as everyone else - they have just become enablers rather than slaves) - but what the Santa Claus story does, is it gets all of the young children in a frame of mind (before they are old enough to ask critical questions to protect themselves) where they are used to believing in supernatural, larger than life, "good" mythological characters - sort of like Jesus, for that matter, who may or may not have existed, but if he did was nothing more than a "good" human being, perhaps a bit more charismatic than most, with some good, but hardly unique, ideas about how we ought to live together - and behaviour patterns developed at a young age are, as any shrink will tell you, almost certain to be carried over into the "adult" years - so we don't really give up on Santa (that is to say, our belief in a supernatural, beneficent being) completely, we just transfer that belief into something more "adult" - like the President or Prime Minister or "the Flag" or this "god" character that most societies seem to have - mythological figures who are GOOD people, whose only purpose in life is to Do Good Things for We the Citizen-Subjects. As long, of course, as we DO WHAT WE ARE TOLD!!!! (if you want that special toy, you better be good!!! Santa's watching you know!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA)
The Box - the set of indoctrinated beliefs that keeps We the People basically powerless like kids in the sandbox playing make-believe games, and They the Elite wielding all the important power in our society. The Box is the blinders we all wear that keep us from even realising this - that have got us convinced, in fact, that there is no such metaphorical box, and we are indeed "captains of our fate, masters of our ship". It must be so - there are ever so many more of us than of them, and we could overthrow them in no time were we to ever wake up to reality.
Let's see if the Canadian media have any examples this day..... (HAHAHAHAHAHAAA - trick question!!! EVERYTHING you read in the media can be related to the Box!!!!)
US warns companies over Israel boycott - "...."The US government is strongly opposed to restrictive trade practices or boycotts targeted at Israel," said Undersecretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Kenneth Juster. ..." etc etc - now, that'd be part of the great and wonderful 'Mericun "freedom" all them damn A-rabs 'n' all hate, right? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA - and Cuba, now, well, shoe's sort of on the other foot - if the business people TRADE with Cuba, the Commerce Dep't gets in a REALLY big snit too. Consistency is such a lovely trait in people - not to mention "free" trade. HAHAHAHAHAAA
Ottawa software developer charged with terrorism - "....Mohammad Momin Khawaja's brother Qasim and his older sister were in the family home alone, watching television when more than a dozen police burst in. .... "The door was blown open and guys with masks and guns came in, told us to get down on the ground," the 26-year- old Qasim Khawaja said..." - just another day of "serve and protect" HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA - this ain't new - I had a similar experience about 30 years ago, had a BAD cold, feeling miserable, laying on the couch watching something on tv with my head on my girlfriend's lap, early evening - and BANG - both doors of the old house in the country slammed open, and within a couple of seconds there were about 10 big cops in the room - they didn't have all the darthvader gear and body armor, but the guns were out - the early 70s version of all that shit. Someone had "tipped" them off that there were "illegal drugs" in the house, and that was that - they couldn't have "verified" anything ahead of time, because there WERE no drugs, and they didn't find any, so quite obviously they were going on nothing more than rumours - but going after people that didn't quite fit in the Box (I jumped/got pushed (take your pick - a combination of both) out of the Box when I was about 14 - long-haired teenagers in small town Ontario in the mid-60s were very much "other"). They made quite a mess over the next couple of hours throwing stuff around looking for the stuff that was never there - and when I made some phone calls later, was told to forget it - the way the law was written, and given the temper of the times, there was no way I or the other people in the house would ever get any recompense for broken stuff. Democracy in Canada HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA - and so it is today with certain people. They (the enforcers of the elite) truly are beyond the law.
But in the Ottawa case, what's all this shit about "terrorist" activities the guy is being charged with? Is that like an email saying he thinks George Bush is an asshole, or an assembled and ready to set-the-timer atomic device hidden in his bedroom with "Paul Martin" written on it (HAHAHAHAHAAAAA), or what exactly is the nature of the "crime"? I mean, really, this "terrorist connections" is starting to sound a LOT like "unAmerican activities" in the 50s in the great ol USofA, if you know what I mean - baaaaaaaaaaaaaad shit goin down here, man. Bad, bad, bad shit - it's bad in America, and it's REALLY fucking scary when it's spreading to Canada. I mean, fuck, what's all this SWAT team TV-shit - that's REALLY fantasyland stuff - but in Ottawa?!?!?! Darthvader cops shouting GO GO GO GO !!!!! then breaking down doors and "subduing" little old ladies?!?!?! Fuck - it's not funny, it's just fucking outrageous - yet all the TERRORIST TERRORIST stories have got everybody so fucking confused (and probably a bit scared that if they dare to protest, the NEXT fucking GO GO GO might be directed at THEIR front door) that they don't know what is going on - another debt of gratitude we owe to the Great Free Canadian Media HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.
Ok - a normal citizen would probably think give the cops the benefit of the doubt for a few days, and see what charges they come up with, for there ARE bad guys out there, and undoubtedly some of them live in Canada, and maybe Ottawa - but it seems to me, after the Arar case, and the case of the 17 kids rounded up last August and the cops filled the papers with accusations of "terrorist connections!!!! OH MYGOD!!!!!" - and later it was found that the WORST thing any of the kids had done was have an overextended visa, which may be illegal but nobody outside of a fanatical gestapo agent would call "terroristic", and quite a lot of other stuff over the years - well, I don't think these people really deserve the benefit of the doubt any more, endless screaming about bogeymen by everyone in the press notwithstanding. So we should give them a couple of days, and start DEMANDING some charges and evidence - NONE of this "oh my we gotta keep it all secret - national security you know!!!!!" - as if we should all close our mouths and (more importantly, I guess) brains at the very mention of the phrase - but it don't cut it any more with me, for some reason - all I think they want to keep "secure" is the fact that they are all a bunch of incompetent and corrupt wannabe-nazis in the act of trying to turn this country into a police state - which would get quite a few people upset, even yet, in Canada, were it to be revealed.
But that's the Box - the police are well-meaning, honest protectors of We the People - not wannabe nazis, which they appear to be from outside the Dick and Jane Civics Grade 8 schoolbooks.
And writing polite little letters to these people, which is the Box way of "citizen involvement" in the political process, just doesn't go anywhere - sort of like a letter say 70 years ago - "Dear Mr. Adolf, I really think you should reconsider your plans to invade Poland and other countries. A lot of us think this really is rather a poor idea. Sincerely yours, etc..." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA - right. In the Box, citizens think such letters actually get read and have some influence on the course of events. Outside the Box, now - we know about the Delete Button (or the G (for Garbage hahahahaa) file), where all of these things wind up. It's part of the Sandbox Game, the make believe "rules" that the children play by.
The Senate Report - this is just fucking unbelievable, the "MAKE ALL CANADIANS TERRIFIED OF BOGEYMEN BOGEYMEN BOGEYMEN" file in fucking overdrive (like I said last time, something definitely in the works this summer) - Canada unprepared for national emergencies - "...Canada is an "unready nation" extremely vulnerable to terrorist attacks and natural disasters, a new Senate report charges...." - I just don't believe this shit anymore, I really don't - why isn't the country rising up and screaming out something like "GET FUCKING SANE PEOPLE!!!!!????" - this is outrageous fear-mongering of the very worst sort, complete bullshit, and from our supposed "body of sober serious second thought" or whatever they like to call themselves to justify their existence (before today I had SOME respect for these people - completely gone, if they're signing off on this - but like many things, I think a few years ago some of the people in the Senate actually tried to do some good stuff - but now, complete fucking sellout...) - this is the complete opposite of anything LIKE that - utter horseshit, jump on the TERRORISM TERRORISM TERRORISM bandwagon and PUSH it ahead! That is to say, correct me if I am wrong HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA that was SO funny!!!!!! - but didn't Canada just go through TWO quite serious "natural disasters" the last few years (that'd be the big Ice Storm, and the Blackout) - and deal with them - well, not PERFECTLY, if such a thing would ever be possible, considering the endless possible variables of such things - but nonetheless, VERY, very well?!?!?! - fuck, who put WHAT in the coffee (hahahaha) of these people, that they could pretend that the responses to these things were of no significance?!!! - these "disasters" were not mentioned at all - for rather obvious reasons! - but do they think we are ALL so fucking stupid we have forgotten about them?!?!?!
Well - in the Box - maybe maybe maybe - they have reason to think that. It's sort of a lonely place here outside the Box (in the sense of not many other people around - I have never had much problem with spending time alone - thinking is usually done best without a lot of babbling in the neighbourhood HAHAHAHAHAAAA)
More on this "terrorism" shit - Paul Harris again in Vive - Almost Human: What Makes Someone a Terrorist? - "...Acts of terrorism are usually committed by the weak against the strong and generally the actions committed are the only useful options available to the weaker party. Most ‘terrorists’ would far prefer to fight with sophisticated weapons, to drop bombs and missiles from the safety of the sky or the ocean, but such weaponry is not usually within their grasp. So they use the delivery systems they can muster, be that commandeered aircraft or their own bodies....." - this is a truly thoughtful article about "terrorism" (from one of my compatriots OUTSIDE the ol Box of course - there ain't much "thoughtful" stuff being written from INside, I'll tell ya HAHAHAHAAAA) and how our governments are responding to it - and such an article will NEVER be found in the mainstream press, while everyone is on this "EVERYONE BE VERRY VERRY AFRAIIDDDD!!!!" kick - the so-called Senate report I look at above is the spin de jour - lies and lies and manipulation, our lot in life in Canada in 2004 - until we throw the fuckers out.
Which gets to another place - why is it that we on the "left" - or center, as I prefer to think of it - of the political spectrum seem so fucking DETERMINED to NEVER get into power?!?!?!?!! It's just unbelievable the amount of backstabbing that is going on around Jack Layton these days - by the people who ought to be supporting him if they REALLY believed that getting rid of corporate government in Canada was a priority these days - apparently many of them believe that that might be important, but first they gotta "take care" of someone (and that'd be "take care of" in the Godfather sense, rather than the Florence Nightingale sense HAHAHAHAAAA) - like the only person who has a realistic chance this year of - wait for it! - getting rid of corporate government in Canada or, at the very least, getting the Voice of We the People actually Heard in the Canadian Government, which it hasn't been for what - at least 20 years, probably 30 would be closer.
No wonder a lot of ex-pats stay ex. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I wrote last time about a group wanting to start a new political party to compete with Jack and the NDP - and now on Rabble - a place I would have thought would have known better - we have this commentary - Jack Layton: the Tim Hortons of the left from some guy who identifies himself as a socialist, and is apparently of the viewpoint that if he can't have some perfect socialist government, he would rather Martin or Harper than Layton. Totally fucking escapes me what these people are thinking about. I let him know what I thought about it anyway (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA) - but I really wonder if some of these people aren't your basic sort of 5th columnists, people paid by "the enemy", whoever that happens to be at any given time, to infiltrate certain organisations and disrupt their operations - it'll be in the Big Book someday, but that happened in PEI with the National Party in my area back in 93, and I heard of it happening in other areas, and it happened at the national council level. Man, the people in power these days are serious - it is really quite a small effort on their part, but with HUGE results - we of the center are largely decent and honest and naive people, in terms of 'realpolitiks' or knowledge of basic political tomes like Machiavelli's The Prince or Sun Tzu's Art of War (which politics surely is, in the real outside-the-Box world), people who want to live honest and decent lives and expect that from others, and are extremely easy to infiltrate it seems, and ever ready to turn on ourselves for some reason that I am not quite able to figure yet - such a small push from the Bay St Backroom Boys, and we do the rest. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA - and I ain't coming back to that kind of craziness. If you guys wanna get your act together - and that is the fucking operative word - TOGETHER!!!!!! - then maybe I'll think about it. Of course, if you can manage that, you won't need me - the whole country will come to you. But first - TOGETHER!!!!! - QUIT THE ENDLESS FUCKING BACKSTABBING !!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA - guess we don't need to hold our breaths for that one eh Tom?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHA
Anyway - the letter -
Dear Rabble,
RE: Jack Layton: the Tim Hortons of the left (RM archive copy)
Your title, comparing Jack Layton to Tim Hortons, is certainly cute, but equally certainly meaningless - a better title might actually be "Stan Histler: Benedict Arnold of the Canadian Left".
It's rather unclear to me why Rabble would print something like this - Mr. Histler would have undoubtedly found an appreciative audience with the National Post or Fraser Institute, who miss no opportunity to knock anything to the left of the American Republicons, and are certainly pretty worried about Jack Layton right now. We have a very, very important election coming up in this country, and Jack Layton represents the best chance we have had in years, in confluence with some other factors, to get some sane and influential voices in the Canadian government. Now is NOT a time for the usual type of sniping and bickering so common on "the left" in Canada - now is a time to gather together to take a mighty shot at getting rid of corporate government in Canada, or at least taking the first steps in that direction - and stuff like this doesn't help.
It might be different if Mr. Histler had some useful criticisms which might strengthen our work at this time when we need to be getting our act together as strongly and coherently as possible - but most of this is nothing more than the usual brainless spiteful bash bash bash we see so often, as so many people seem determined to stay the "same old same old" "leftist" course of divide and conquer ourselves we seem to excel at, leaving us all wandering around dizzy and ineffectual from self-inflicted wounds when we need to be on top of our games. The Backroom Bay St Boys must love it! (if they aren't actually paying for it - but let's leave that sidetrack for another time).
Let's just quickly look at a couple of examples of Mr. Histler's "criticisms" of Layton, which exemplify the standards of "thought" or "proof" of the whole tirade - really, I've read better justifications for a "point-of-view" from high school kids explaining why they haven't done their homework - which Mr. Histler evidently hasn't - quite a sad piece of "writing" altogether.
"... If an ex-Liberal deputy prime minister is now welcome inside the NDP, and even — good gosh! — an ex-Tory prime minister, doesn't this suggest that maybe the NDP itself has become indistinguishable from these parties?..." Come come - when we read of an NDPer going to the Libs (oddly enough, happening right this very day - Martin introduces B.C. candidates), do we assume the Libs have become indistinguishable from the NDP?!?! Hardly! - one suggesting such a thing would receive some strange looks in return, no doubt. Likewise the reverse - just maybe there are other ways of looking at this (leaving aside for the moment the fact that NONE of the people mentioned have actually "joined" the NDP, nor even appear likely to - nothing more than rumours about it all - rather telling that rumours represent the opening "proof" given by Mr. Histler to justify his anti-Layton tirade...). But even if there were some substance to such rumours, just maybe the parties these people once belonged to have moved away from THEM! - maybe the parties they once belonged to have become indistinguishable not only from one another but from the Republicons (sic!) of the great US they seem to worship - and the individuals in question do not see themselves as fitting in their former parties anymore, and are looking for something more akin to their own centrist-Canadian beliefs - something like the NDP - both Clark and Copps were well known for being on the "pink-Tory" or "left" sides of their parties, both of which have moved FAR to the right over the last decade or two.
Further, it is nothing short of ludicrous, and evidences a COMPLETE lack of awareness of what is going on in today's Canada, to say that the Layton-led NDP are indistinguishable from the Libs or Harper's new Canadian Republican party (I'm going to demand some sort of Truth in Political Party Names law one of these days when I get around to it, and figure out who to write to about it). Is Mr. Histler familiar with the differences in, oh for instance the parties all rah-rah GREAT!!! about the "new" American Star Wars plan (Martin and Harper) and the party opposing it (Layton) - a rather significant difference, I think; or the difference between the parties supporting ever more, new and improved "free trade", NAFTA, WTO etc and those wanting to get out of them (again, Martin-Harper and Layton, respectively), the difference between supporting the FPTP electoral system which allows the Libs and "Conservatives" to continue playing tweedledum-dee with the Canadian elections with the support of maybe 30% of the voters, and wanting to change to the much fairer Prop Rep system (as above), etc and etc? It would seem Mr. Histler ought to invest in some new glasses or something, if in his eyes the Libs, Harper people and NDP are "indistinguishable". Really. One hardly needs to read further, upon realising what a lack of understanding Mr. Histler has about what he professes to talk about.
But one does, in wonderment....
And continues on to this beauty - "...And if you add to that Layton's recent offer to back a minority Liberal government should that be the outcome of the next election, you're really left scratching your head. I mean, here is Layton routinely denouncing Paul Martin as a corporate robber baron and then he goes and offers to keep this same robber baron in power. What sort of “progress” is that?..." Hmmmm - has Mr. Histler read much history? It was back a few years, but if he can recall the days of NDP-influenced minority governments of Libs Pearson and Trudeau (both admittedly of a MUCH more populist bent than the corporate Martin, to begin with) in the late 60s and early 70s, which had a LOT to do with such things as Canadian medicare, UIC, OAP, and so on, he might have a slightly different understanding of these things. Should the NDP have this opportunity this year, Layton has said that the first condition for agreeing to support the Libs in a limited sense would be the holding of a binding referendum of some sort, asking Canadians if they wanted to switch from the so-destructive FPTP electoral system we have been labouring under to a form of Proportional Representation, which, while not solving all of our problems, would be a HUGE step forward, and give all of the other people Mr. Histler apparently supports a chance to get some seats in parliament, where their voices would be heard, which is almost impossible under our current system.
It's hard to figure what Mr. Histler actually wants, reading over this missive, because he spends a lot of time disparaging Layton and the NDP and almost none suggesting what would be a better political option outside of "socialism", which he does not in any way define (although frequently disparaging Layton and others for just such a failure to precisely define what they mean by various words), apparently as originally envisaged a hundred+ years ago, a vision which is somewhat impractical in the modern world with most important conditions very different from what they were back then, not unlike the steam locomotive for instance, which was amazing when it was new, but now we have other, rather better modes of transportation, as we have new and better visions for sharing, equitable and democratic societies based on the new conditions in which we live.
But surely Mr. Histler can understand that whatever he wants, whatever progressive things the NDP or whoever he considers "progressive" want, are just NOT going to happen overnight - they are going to take time, step by step. Many of us would like to see a perfect world or society, and have our own views on what that perfect place would be like - but even if some miracle happened and we became the Canadian government tomorrow, the changes required to make that world a reality would take time - there would be a lot of resistance from the entrenched powers who benefit, often greatly, from the status quo, and even a lot of resistance from those who would benefit the most, as most people are wary of great change. To petulantly sulk like a child, demanding "ALL OR NOTHING RIGHT NOW!!!!" - that is to say, if "our team" does not have control of the government and thus freedom to do as it wishes, it must NOT try to work with whoever is in power to accomplish some small gains, is just not a very realistic way of looking at things. And yet that is apparently one of his major criticisms of Layton and the NDP - that they are willing to compromise, take small steps, getting what concessions they can from the Libs in return for some limited support - rather than sulking in the corner and accomplishing nothing if you can't have EVERYTHING you want, which Mr. Histler appears to feel is the preferable alternative.
One would think such a strong socialist (?) as Mr. Histler would have a better understanding of many things, but especially history, which shows clearly that ALL progress happens in small steps - and we were making good progress for decades and centuries - progress which, in Canada, peaked in the early 1970s (again, after several years of NDP-influenced minority governments!), at which point the Corporate Revolution began, to try (rather successfully) to roll back this progress, and we have been taking rather larger steps backwards since then. Canadians are starting to understand this, and many of them see Layton as the chance to reverse this reverse, if you will, and resume our progressive journey.
One has to wonder seriously why someone like Mr. Histler is so determined to try to make sure the NDP don't do any better in this election than they have in the past few. At this time in our history, with most people pretty upset with the Libs, and equally distrustful of the far-right Harper people - who exactly has an interest in making sure that the people of Canada don't make a logical change, and vote for the NDP?
Hmmmmmm.
I do not say that the NDP or Layton are perfect - I myself have not supported them over the last several elections, preferring to support other non-corporate-government options I thought did a better job of speaking for the Canada I wanted to see - the National Party, or the CAP, for instance. But now it is clear that such fringe parties cannot command the money that is required to make a credible run across the country, while the NDP still can - and also, with Layton this year, a charismatic leader, which noone denies, they have a much stronger and more credible presence, and considering the widespread "fed-up-ness" with the Libs and the equally widespread dislike and distrust of the FAR-right Harper people, and the availability of the internet for campaigning, somewhat offsetting the corporate press and their freezing out of alternative voices, there is a window of opportunity we have not had in a long time to get some strong voices in the Canadian parliament - it is not unrealistic to hope for the influential voice the NDP could command in a minority government, which could be, Mr. Histler's ill-informed and simply incorrect criticisms aside, a very positive thing for us.
And if we do NOT do this - if we turn away from, or turn on, Layton, what is the alternative? Well, same old same old - Libs or Harper's people (two branches of the same party, of course, the Bay St Boys Party, I think of them as, the party really controlled by Tom d'Aquino's CCCE) waltz again into power, with the votes of 20-30% of Canadians, and on we go on the merry capitalist road. Mr. Histler seems to dislike this path, as do the rest of us, so it is quite contrary of him to do his best to see that we lose this great opportunity to get off it by destroying any possible alternative before it really gets out of the starting gate.
Well, one could go on at length dissecting Mr. Histler's letter, but it poses little challenge and would be a waste of more of a good morning. I do want to respond to one more thing though - Mr. Histler says ".... if you try to pin (Layton) down about where his “progressiveness” is meant to lead, his ideas go fuzzy like cotton candy..." and then "...Layton's response is pure donut: “If you're on a truthful journey you can't be sure where you will end up in the long term.” I especially like the Zen-like touch about the “truthful journey.” Here you have the leader of the country's major left-wing party happily admitting that he has no idea where he's going...."
This is almost too far out to respond to, but since he has got space in Rabble, a fairly respectable journal of the non-wacko-rightwing in Canada, to spread this kind of nonsense, one feels one must respond, in fear that a lack of response will lead others to believe that others believe this utter crap. If Mr. Histler doesn't understand "progressive" - as that word is used by people on the "center-left" of Canadian politics - then frankly he ought to do a bit more reading before he starts writing - it means such things as fair taxation, government of, by and for the people rather than of, by and for the corporate sector and banks, not privatising medicare or water, pursuing a path of peace and justice rather than war and privilege, and so on. It is nonsensical to demand that Layton or anyone else define every word they use when talking to someone, and accuse them of "...ideas(...) fuzzy like cotton candy" if they fail to.
And then to deride him for uttering one of the most insightful and truthful things ever said by a Canadian politician, or any "modern" western politician for that matter, "...If you're on a truthful journey you can't be sure where you will end up in the long term..." - well, one is almost speechless at the blindness, the cold, practical "non-starry-eyed" capitalist outlook, of Mr. Histler, both literally and spiritually - this is exactly the kind of crap one would expect from a Fraser Institute "analysis" of Layton. Such a comment, indeed, says a GREAT deal more about Mr. Histler's petty withered spirit than about Mr. Layton or many of us who also believe such things as not being able to foresee the future exactly, but who do indeed go into that future on the wings of a dream, boldly daring that vision and road even though we do NOT know what tomorrow will bring or where this path will lead - but we believe that with men and women of good will striding that path bravely together, working like hell to make a vision of life and beauty to replace the spirit-less slave world ratrace of the capitalists, it will go to good places! And what we DO know is that the path we are on in this modern, corporate-led world, the world of Martin and Harper and Bay St., with average citizens being little more than slaves to Investors and Profits and Banks and Trade Treaties, and the people and the environment of our world be damned in the names of these modern gods, with the Canadian government following along behind the Americans like a pathetic obedient will-less mindless hunchback, pepper-spraying and jailing its own citizens on phony, secret "terrorist" charges to impress their Washington overlords, is a future full of blackness and lifelessness and evil, and we do NOT wish to be on that path.
Well, enough for one day - I have more important things to do than try to convince those who have given up and now want to drag everyone else down to their Feast of Hopelessness and Backstabbing to get back on their feet and join the real fight - it's a bleak, bleak world you speak for, Mr. Histler, if you think that Paul Martin or Stephen Harper offer a better choice for Canadians than Jack Layton, and I for one will fight to prevent their dystopic vision from happening. We may or may not achieve some kind of Utopia someday, Mr. Histler - but one thing I can tell you for sure, is that we sure as hell will not achieve it if we don't even try, and that is why I choose to support Jack Layton, imperfect though he may be (I doubt anyone would measure to your standards, Mr. Histler).
Quite frankly, I think Mr. Histler ought to reformat his metaphor here - it appears to me that Layton is the donut, and Histler and whoever else he speaks for are the hole in the middle where their support for the only progressive person with a chance to have an impact in this election ought to be but is rather sadly - and noticeably - missing.
Quite an unholy state of affairs altogether HAHAHAHAHAHAAA sorry - I don't know what it's supposed to mean but just couldn't resist.
x x x x x x x x x --x30x--
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA MAN!!!! that's a rockin fuckin letter!!! (and you can feel some part of some small club that you're one of about 30 people who will get to read it HAHAHAHAAAAAA) (I may have to retract that statement next time if Rabble actually publishes it - but I for some reason suspect they won't (PROVE ME WRONG HAHAHHAHAA!!!!!)
- speaking of the NDP - here is an interesting read (I looked it up after seeing it referred to in the Hirstel letter actually - the guy's heart **may** be in the right place, but his tactics, if so, definitely need some work - the original CCF manifesto - now don't panic!!! Immediately thinking "YUCK!!! DAMNED COMMIE SOCIALISTS 5-YEAR PLANS STATE SLAVE FARMS PRAVDA GULAGS" etc and etc - that is Box thinking!!! - you are TRAINED to think that!!!! THINK ABOUT IT HAHAHAHAHAHAAA - anyway, after you sort out that "manifesto" means nothing more than a statement of principles, and why should that upset you any more than FUCK FUCK FUCK should upset you, have a boo - it is a very interesting read - haven't I said that before??? Really - we can read something like NAFTA as a "manifesto" of modern capitalism - all to the wealthy, fuck the poor - now don't tell me that sort of thing makes you real happy.
But then as now, I see after reading it (amazing how some things never change, they were trying to respond to EXACTLY the same problems we are trying to respond to today!!!), the well-meaning socialists are overlooking what is probably the most important thing of all, which probably has a LOT to do with our failure to effect change - HOW do you get from here to there, when you are going to be opposed by some very strong and very determined people who do not WANT to go there?!?!?! - who have been running this place for generations, centuries even, going back to Europe, and who are VERY experienced in having their own way about all things at all times - if lies don't do it, then they try tricks and scams, if you get wise to them they will turn to violence. And escalate as necessary, although in our modern Box world, the propaganda has been pretty well refined, and they don't have much trouble keeping everyone in the Box these days - they don't need their enforcers to get out the pepper spray very often at all, in good modern obedient Canada.
And they ALWAYS have bigger bank accounts and bigger goons and bigger guns and bombs than we do - and far, far less morals about using them - where we, decent people that most of us are, desiring a decent society based on the same values we have internally, would hesitate to kill and use dirty tricks, they revel in such tactics - their entire elite world is based on such things, they are the masters in such things - for us to fight them on these grounds is like some 5 year old kid taking on Muhammed Ali in his prime - a joke at best, a tragedy at worst. David was cool in the Bible, bashing down that huge fearsome Goliath - another fairy story to make the people think they have hope, when they don't, like all the god stuff - oh, we can have hope, but only if we base it on real things, and our own determination to make things better - hoping that some god will come and smite the bad enemy person is institutionalised hopelessNESS - and we will remain in the Box and brainless as long as we wait for that saviour. What we DO have most of is people, at least potentially, if we can get a few more citizens awake to the Box they live in, and wondering what it might be like outside of it. The elite represent at best 2-3% of the overall population, even counting their senior mandarins and enforcers (junior mandarins and enforcers, although perhaps on the Initiate path, are still normal Boxers, and may even yet be decent people, some of them) - if we really wanted to, we could physically overthrow them all and take back our countries and governments.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ALRIGHT WHO PUT WHAT IN THE FUCKING BEER THIS TIME AHHAHAHAHAHAHAA
anyway - that's the Box too.
Editorial: Too young to vote - "...Society has decided that 16-year-olds, as a group, should not be sanctioned to drink alcohol, see a restricted film, or engage in a host of other behaviours allowed for adults.... If they lack the collective maturity to do those things, surely these citizens should wait two more years before being granted the right to vote....". HAHAHAHAHAHAAA - PERFECT inside the Box stuff - but just what about - maybe "society" is full of shit, as least as far as such decisions are made in their name - maybe they ought to just hop OUTSIDE the Box, and REMOVE all "age limits" for ANYthing, and start treating these young human beings as people, as young citizens - who participate in the decisions of their society!!!! To whatever extent they lack "collective maturity" - it is because we have trained them that way - and the reason they are NOT allowed to do many things at that age is because a LOT of them are NOT firmly ensconced in the Box, and as a collective voice, in league with other outside-the-Box-ers, might be able to do something about it all.
What about "democracy" in general? What about Martin introduces B.C. candidates) - this really exposes a lot of what is and has been going on in Canada - and shows very clearly that we may be a lot of things, but a "democracy", in any true sense of the word, which is a country government, basically, as old Abe put it so well, of, by and for the people. What we really have is a country government of, by and for the Elite, who make certain small concessions to the people, but NEVER give them any real say in the governing of their country. The Box. Sure you can start your own political party!!!! That's Democracy Citizen!!! In the Box!!! - the Reality is - the freedom to "start" a new political party, under the current way we live, is pretty much limited to people who can one way or another lay their hands on tens of millions of dollars - and that does NOT include the 99% of us who live in the Box.
And you won't read THAT truth in any of the Box newspapers HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA.
I suppose the proof is in the pudding,as someone used to say - if the voters now turn around and elect these candidates that Paul is personally nominating for HIS party, it will indicate very firmly that they are full-fledged Boxers. Do as you are told and don't ask questions. Yes massa. Bye bye love, bye bye Canada.
And this - What is a Tory? - Canadian Press - Ottawa — "...The PC Party lives, for now... But it needs 50 progressive Canadians to keep alive vote-splitting on the right...." - this is absolutely fucking disgraceful, from CP, in the Globe and Mail, presented as a "news" story. Stupid, as commentary, but fair game, columnists can say what they want - but presented as "news"?!?!?!?!?!?!! - that's Canadian "journalism" in the CCCE-neocon era. Abso-fucking-lutely pathetic. No wonder THINKING people are turning to the net in droves. RIP Canadian media - you were once so good, and have fallen so far.
The Good News, in these stories and others?
The Net is fucking OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA - but you KNEW that, right?!?!?!?!!
Major drug raids in Canada, U.S. - "....Citizen involvement is key to busting such rings, said Pratapas of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration... "They're affecting your communities, your schools, your parks."..." - yea right batman - the potsmokers, trying to take ONE small fucking step OUTSIDE the Box - made into criminals by absolutely untenable "laws", are your friends, family and neighbours in most cases - and "citizen involvement" is absolutely, 1,000% necessary to get rid of the malcontents and people who DARE to speak up before a police state can be secure, the people who fight the Box. Trust me "citizens" - we don't want to give in to these fucking nazis and their fascist "laws" and enforcers - that is to say, others might think citizen involvement is the way to STOP these fucking nazis from creating hell on earth in Canada - YOU tell THEM to FUCK OFF - or they tell you - CITIZEN!!! - YOUR BIOMETRIC ID CARD NOW!!! AND I MEAN NOW!!!! ON YOUR FUCKING KNEES!!!! citizen. HAHAHAHAHAAA - no totalitarian government ever took power without the full cooperation of those they were about to terrorize. Think about it. Ask Adolf, if you can get ahold of him HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.
- related - just listening to CNN (know thine enemy) about FOUR US nationals killed in Faluja or wherever, it's all over the news - "HORRIBLE BUTCHERY!!! - Americans "furious"!!!! is the complete Box spin, and most people are buying that with no questions asked - yet recall - 13,000 +++ Iraqi civilians killed - but hell, we don't keep track - collateral damage - them's the breaks. (and the latest word is that those "civilians" were probably mercenaries hired to guard American or British "assets" - carrying weapons - in other words, part of the Occupation Team - quite probably, for that matter, as the Americans put it, "unrecognised combatants", when they ship others off to one of their prison camps or torture chambers.
That's enough for now. From Outside the Box.
MAAAANNNNN!!!!! That's all sure been a blast!!! So - when does April "Fool's" day come again?!?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAA
man i need a beer
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh - oh yea - the next part of Greenways is done - you can find it here.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” - Dr Seuss - man he was smart....... I gotta read some of that stuff again ..... that's almost as good a play on words as the great old line about comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable.....
George Orwell: During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.” (Upton Sinclair - great writer - reading stuff like this helps understand how the problems of today are NOT new!!! - and is a clear indication of the truth of the old saying that he who does not know history is destined to repeat it, or whatever)

Write if ya want (ya gotta take the xxx off the front - I'm trying to reduce the intake from the spam assholes (oh yes you fucking are - it is NOT amusing - get a fucking life why don't you, instead of bothering people - how fucking stupid can you be?? If you were the last fucking product on earth I wouldn't buy anything from you!! Fuck.)).
What direct action did you take today to do something to get rid of corporate
government in Canada besides deleting spam? Do you feel that it was enough, given the situation?
Will you feel content telling that to your grandchildren, should they survive,
and the country, and the planet?
So much left to say, so little time to say it in - probably only a few months until the next federal election - do you want to try to save Canada in that frantic four weeks when big Paul drops the writ and EVERY friggin advantage is his - or would you like to start now, when we have some sort of outside chance? Canada for Canadians Coalition - get involved.
