About The CCC
What is the CCC...?? The CCC is a coalition of political parties, including the NDP, CAP, and Green Parties, and Canadian NGOs such as Greenpeace, the Council of Canadians, and David Suzuki's Environmental Center, and individual Canadians such as Mel Hurtig, Margaret Atwood and Linda McQuaig, who are extremely concerned about the direction the Canadian government has been taking the last few years under the direction of the BCNI, which seems very different than the direction most Canadians have wanted their government to go, and who believe that acting together to restore the Canadian government to Canadian citizens is the single most important thing to be done in the next election. This is NOT a "united left" of some sort - the NDP and Greens and CAP still have many policy differences, but they all agree on one thing - CORPORATE GOVERNMENT IN OTTAWA MUST END - and the only way to do that is to elect a government that is not Liberal, PC or Alliance, who are all corporate controlled. (When you mention this to them, and they protest with feigned outrage, tell them any of us at the CCC wil be happy to debate them in a public forum on the matter - concerning such things as the National Debt Scam, etc)more...
Issue 1: Democracy.... The major concern of those who are working with the CCC is that the Canadian Parliament should be run by Canadians for Canadians - NOT by Big Business for Big Business, which has been the central operating principal of our Parliament for the last 20-plus years. Why does this happen? Two main reasons - the major political parties are financially controlled by Big Business, and therefore make decisions on their behalf, and secondly, even though a majority of Canadians do not agree with this type of thing, we are stuck in an archaic election system called FPTP (first past the post) wherein winner takes all, both in individual ridings and in the government as a whole, which leaves us typically with a "majority" government which has the support of 25-30% of the Canadian people - a somewhat different definition of democracy than most of us have. And even worse - since the days of Mulroney, the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) has ruled the Commons with an iron fist, and "backbenchers" (ordinary MPs - like the ones you elect) have virtually no say in the running of our country. This is not what many of us consider a democratic process. If you agree - then the CCC is the place to try to change things.more...
Issue 2: Sovereignty.... that is to say, does the Canadian government make decisions for Canada and Canadians - or do what the Americans or their WTO tell us to? more...

About Any Riding and the CCC
Your AnyRiding Candidate...
The current "hard copy" residence of the CCC is at 123 Some St, Sometown, Anyriding - this is actually the home of Bob and Jane ("WE CARE ABOUT OUR COUNTRY!) Q. Citizen. We would like to get a small storefront type office downtown somewhere, if we get enough people showing interest (that means giving money!), so we can do walk-by advertising in the windows, and drop-in-for-a-coffee-and-talk stuff with people out doing their business or shopping, waiting for their husband/wife/etc at the barber's or doctor's, and so on.
We do not have a candidate in AnyRiding yet - we want you to help pick her or him. That is why we have this website. We do have some people interested, however - here's
Xxx, Yyy and Zzz all strongly believe that electing someone to the House of Commons from Anyriding who is not taking orders from the BCNI or their ilk is much more important than playing divisive party politics at this time in our history, and have agreed that as soon as it is time to select a candidate from Anyriding, they will go along with a majority of the citizens who have been participating in the CCC process, and one of them will be the official candidate, and the other two (with the resources of their parties, we might add!) will fully support the electoral campaign of the winner.
We are still hoping that other well-known locals, such as Aaron Anarchist, a well-known activist for many years for a better society, will become involved in the CCC process. We are in an ongoing consultation, using this website, local meetings, a listserve, and anything else we can think of to help us and you select the best person to represent this riding in the House of Commons who will speak honestly and faithfully for all of us. Your participation over the coming months is very important - central, in fact, to the success of the CCC. We know that Canadians have become very cynical about the entire political process in this country over the last few years, with their elected "representatives" generally representing the BCNI rather than the people who elected them. We want to change that - but we cannot do it alone, nor do we expect any help in getting this initiative known from the media, who are owned by and support the BCNI parties. If you, and your friends and neighbors in ANYWHERE RIDING participate over the next few months in meeting and talking to potential candidates, and getting to know them, then you will, we believe, have more faith in the political system, will trust your candidates more to do the right thing - and will be more likely to get out and vote for them. Which is all we want.
Please, then, take a few minutes, browse around this website - and if what you see interests you - please get involved. Most Canadians want a better country - but it will not happen through the Liberals or Alliance who will continue to do the bidding of the banks and corporations who fund them - it will happen only if enough Canadians get involved, and make it happen.
