Anyway, on this whole, unbelievably amazingly blown out of proportion Mahathir thing - a speech given to a group of Muslim leaders in a Muslim meeting (that, it must be said, otherwise, even though it involved the leaders of something like a fifth of the world's people, nobody in non-Muslim countries would ever have heard a fucking word about!! (to contrast with, for instance, the recent APEC meeting all over the news for days)) - now, if nobody says anything, nobody in the whole fucking world knows about it, right????? - I mean, just figure, how many outrageous to someone things are said all around the world every fucking day?!?!?! - one just HAS to wonder WHO made the decision to make this a huge, world-wide issue, and at this time, and WHY???? Doesn't one??? Or I suppose not, if the tv didn't tell us to - they just want us to be outraged (again!!!!! surprise surprise!!!) at some Muslim somewhere - and it helps if most of the world doesn't have a fucking clue who Mahathir is anyway - better just to hate ALL them fuckers, don't you think?? It's just all so out of proportion - for starters, Mahathir stated an opinion, whether right or wrong, that many others have, that isn't even that outrageous - I mean - imagine for the Reptilian folks, somebody flying off the handle bigtime - "YOU WHAT!?!?!?!? Very fucking suspicious, to me. Very. Hatred and violence NEVER lead anywhere good - why can't more people understand that?!?!?! (and if you want to bring that around to Mahathir and his words again and accuse him of promoting hatred or violence, I suggest you go and have a boo of the speech - he does NOT advocate violence against the Jews or anyone else - there is one lie the media have been spreading that you can verify for yourselves within seconds - he thinks people should live together in peace, and he thinks that right now a fuck of a lot of people are picking on the Muslims because, to a large extent, their religious leaders of the past few centuries have been too domineering, and have led them down a bad path that discourages learning - and if they want to become more equal with the rest of the world, and become strong enough to stop people from bombing and invading their countries, and also stop fighting among themselves so much, they need to become better educated. All in all, it's a pretty good speech.)

Now we have the right and the further right to contend with - flowery sort of title (likely them kids at the Editorial we mentioned above) - but her exact words - ",,,get ready for a new, wide-open, national debate — between the right and the farther right..."!!!!! - quid est factotum or demostratum or some fucking Latin thing - meaning, basically, so the fuck there. Must be joke week or something - a good political one arrived in my mailbox!

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies (look, it's just a joke!! - I KNOW that would be called a tragedy by few people....). His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. (nono don't laugh yet - the joke is just starting...)

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the man.

"Well, I'd like to but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose were to spend eternity."

"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the senator.

"I'm sorry but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a club and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that, before he realises it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises. The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

"Now it's time to visit heaven."

So, 24 hours pass with the head of state joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realises it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The senator reflects for a minute, then the senator answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.

"I don't understand," stammers the senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and club, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now all there is is a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning...... Today you voted for us!"

Remember NAFTA and the GST?!?!?!? - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA - man, there are times I wish I believed in stuff like heaven and all that!!!!

Ah well, this gets tedious, but if they keep printing this shit with noone trying to point out the truth, they may start to get the idea that they've won, and we certainly wouldn't want that to happen HAHAHAHAHAHAA - anyway - one more fucking bit from the Star (god - imagine the Star drawing more ire than the Pispot!!!!! - maybe I have really passed through the looking glass!!) - Terror risk in Canada real: Experts - Country facing `persistent, evolving threats' - Intelligence panel ponders grim scenarios - and once again, speculation runs rife about TERRORISM BE AFRAID CITIZENS!!! in the fucking Star, with no fucking proof whatsoever - just a bunch of people sitting around thinking about the worst things that could possibly happen, and then spreading it around like it was true.

The Star coverage, however, misses pointing out a couple of sort of relevant things, as propaganda stories usually do - first, these are all "intelligence" (HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! - you know the famous oxymoron, I'm sure - "military intelligence" - same shit here!!) "specialists" - that is to say, if the country is safe and in no big danger, there are no high-paying James Bond type jobs, no secret trips flying hither and yon around the world pretending they're important spies saving the world from bogeymen, all that shit. Second, for some odd reason (hahahahaa) they don't tie this story in with the one a few weeks ago where these very people (and/or clones, whatever - same fucking bunch one way or another) rounded up a whole bunch of other people in Ontario screaming loudly about TERRORIST TERRORIST TERRORIST connections etc etc - and then within days were in the process of releasing them all, having had to admit there were no fucking terrorist connections at all - it remains unclear to me why the media would trust them again with ANYTHING they ever said, given the obviously pathetic lack of ability shown so recently in an actual operation, rather than theory - but not even a whisper of questioning of their credibility, just wide-eyed Barbiedoll reporters talking in hushed tones about the terrible TERRORISTS and BOGEYMEN WE ALL REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED TO BE AFRAID OF SHUDDER SHIVER SHAKE!!! - such is the power of the mass media and the TERRORIST BOGEYMAN!!!! They don't bother to talk about the literally dozens of such warnings that have emanated from the US over the last couple of years, all of which proved false. They also don't bother explaining exactly WHY they think any terrorists would want to target Canada - really, that is - they do say that terrorists MIGHT (everything here is big with "mights" or similar words) target us because they couldn't get at the US directly, so they would come after us by proxy - but that idea holds up to sober examination (I DO SO!!! (OR NOT AS THE CASE MAY BE HAHAHAHAHAHAAA)) about as well as a lot of other senseless ideas these people put out - fuck, if we had a population that watched less tv, and engaged in a bit more reading and intelligent discussion, this kind of shit and the people who try to spread it would be laughed out of the room, and hopefully their fucking jobs - these scaremongers are NOT the kind of people we need advising the government - yes there is violence in the world - exactly how much of it can be called "terrorism" is a question that has NOT been answered in any way sufficiently, and how we ought to approach this situation is again a question that has NOT been dealt with, but should be. But these people prefer to pretend those questions don't exist at all, or have been answered by the Pentagon-White House - THE FUCKING MUSLIMS DID IT AND WE'RE GOIN BOMBING BOYS HAHAHAHAAA!!! - well, that might suffice in America, which shows every indication of being effectively braindead as a society, but it sure as fuck ain't good enough for me, nor a LOT of other people who get to share their thoughts around the net (we sure as fuck don't get any space in the mainstream media HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA - actually, that's not all that funny, for anyone who values our society and wants to keep it from becoming a small part of the American 4th Reich).

Oh well - late breaking again - the Pispot does get in on it all - Islamic Jihad coming to Canada, CSIS fears - Terrorists in U.S.: report - more of the same old shit, and I'm about sick of it all, so will just point you in that direction if you want some more comic book bogeymen to worry about - but again, they never get around to talking about WHY they think Canada might be in danger - one can only assume because there really is no fucking reason to worry about this, any more than there is a reason to worry about your airplane falling out of the sky, or a grizzly bear breaking into your house some night and eating everyone, or some mad fucking scientist at UofT or wherever inventing some horrible new poison and madly dumping it into your swimming pool or fucking aliens landing in Stupidville Ontario and abducting everyone - sure there's a chance bad things will happen - but it is NOT a big chance, and there is NO FUCKING REASON to listen to these people try to scare everyone to fucking death. Do you think there is a chance there might be an armed robbery in Toronto tonight? Sure there is. Is that a good reason to buy a gun to "protect" yourself and start shooting at every stranger on the street, or allow the cops to run around demanding National ID cards from everyone who dares to venture outside at night?????

Of course it isn't - and these rumors and fictions from the spy people are just as dangerous - really, these Canadian junior g-men get most of their info from the US - and the US government has done nothing but lie and lie and lie and fucking lie about EVERYTHING since 911. Barbie Doll Land - I just finished another book (I read serious shit all day long, and like to read a bit of junk before sleeping - there's a lot of it out there!!!!HAHAHAHAAA - but seriously, some of it's pretty good reading - but you GOTTA suspend your disbelief, as they say...) - and once again (about 99% of them are the same), we have a US Government straight out of fantasy land, where all the main players - senators, congressmen (please heed the call.... hahahaha sorry!!!!), judges, heads of federal agencies, the spy guys, government lawyers, the president himself - almost all of them really good Gregory Peck-Jimmy Stewart type people, people you'd just be so fucking proud to have sit down at your dinner table, people you just KNOW are doing a really really great job of running the country!!, you know, tough when they have to be, but by golly fair and straight-shootin' yessireebobsyerfuckinguncle!! - making the world safe for democracy and your family!!, all that shit - and it is all such a fucking lie - such a fucking lie - and yet so many believe it. Martin Sheen in barbieland - George Fucking Bush in our poor desecrated world, doing everything he can to make things a fuck of a lot worse, committing every sin in the book.

There is a place or a time where this kind of propaganda becomes self-fulfilling or something like that - that is to say, I expect a lot of the people who write the books aren't lying in the service of the elite propaganda, but, having been brought up in the upper-class version of barbiedoll school, protected from the real world of lower class schools, they actually believe what they are saying!! - this, of course, makes their arguments more persuasive, and their defence of their propaganda much more spirited....

It's such a perverse lie - the lie they keep telling, in the civics books, and in the movies, and in the fiction books - it's a lie we all really, really WANT to believe (well, almost all - the bad guys know better for sure....). It's a lie that is possible to believe, because the surface baubles of the lie are there - your split level bungalow with a good selection of mod-cons is available to a lot of people these days, even if they have to work their little butts off for it and have very little security and, in their not-that-far-under-the-surface real souls KNOW they are wasting their fucking lives (you fucking know it!! - check out the suicide stats, the depression stats, the number of people on "legal" hallucinogenics like Ritalin or whatever, and deny it if you can!!!) - and the mythology is there on the tv 24/7 as they say - you can still point to it, and say - QUIT YER COMPLAINING!!! IT'S A GREAT FUCKING COUNTRY!! - and a lot of people do that - rather than admit they don't have any fucking idea at all what has happened to their lives. But the rot is very, very close to the surface, and, like all rot of any kind, if left unchecked, it sooner or later contaminates everything it touches. And the contamination in our modern society is showing ever more. Like the termites in the woodwork - a lot of people don't realise there's a problem until they fall through the bedroom floor, or the roof falls off or something. And it's always a lot easier to ignore a problem if you WANT to ignore it because facing up to it would just be way, way, way way fucking too difficult to even contemplate, and those who are creating the problem WANT you to ignore it as well.

Our awakening from this current state of corruption will be as shocking and traumatic, I fear - but we are going to have to face it, and soon.


I should probably keep right the hell away from this - but that's never been my strong suit - just read this statistic (and I don't even know if it's true - but it sounds about right) - "Make a note of how in one recent year, guns murdered four people in New Zealand, 19 in Japan, 54 in England, 57 in Australia, 66 in Switzerland, 151 in Canada, 373 in Germany, and 11,798 in the U.S" - but the guy was talking about the importance of gun control, and I have some concern about that - my fear is that with the world's major governments becoming increasingly right-wing (which means closer and closer to fascism and Nazism - think about it!!! - and we sure as fuck have gone a long way to the right right here in Canada the last 20 years as well - just remember Vancouver, Quebec, Toronto, and the cops beating on people to keep them down) - and given this, it scares me a lot to think of the only weapons being in the hands of the bad guys - the fucking government!!! - I quite understand that the small armaments citizens would have wouldn't be a whole HELL of a lot of use against Darth Vader's stormtroopers - but they would by god be better than nothing. But the comment I wanted to make, concerning sort of things this whole extended ramble is about, is that to me the number of violent deaths in a society probably relates in some fairly important way to the degree of civilisation of the citizens in that society, more so than the number of guns - I mean, it is pretty well known that if someone wants to kill someone else, they'll probably find a way to do it, and if a gun ain't available, they'll go for a knife or something, and if not a knife a baseball bat - guns are easier, that's all. But banning all guns is NOT going to stop that impulse to kill, and if we REALLY are serious about stopping all the killing, we gotta fucking start EDUCATING people to be better citizens, more intelligent, less stupid, more happy, less angry, stuff like that. And this means creating a society that works for ALL of us - not just the elite - when ALL of us, both here and ALL around the fucking world, have a decent life and a decent government, and at least SOME kind of security and happiness - THEN the killing and murders stop. It has very little to do with guns.

I will feel safe without a gun - when I have a govenment I can trust.
